CitySavings Honors Teachers on World Teachers’ Day

Public school teachers celebrates WTD with CitySavings Marikina.

Last October 03 more than two thousand public school teachers celebrated World Teachers' Day with City Savings Bank. Several creative event activations were organized by 84 branches nationwide on the same day, which is the bank's simple way to honor the teaching profession and its major stakeholders - the public school teachers and the Department of Education (DepEd).

CitySavings bankers offered songs of appreciation and provided special snacks as well as various tokens such as bookmarks, button pins, personalized cupcakes, and canvas eco bags. Teachers expressed their pride in their profession along with messages of appreciation on dedication walls set up at the branches.

"Thank you for celebrating our day as teachers and for the good service", said Happy Janice Yamogan, a teacher from Bonifacio Elementary School, Catubig, Northern Samar.

Junnamae Lucena from F. Bangoy National High School, Davao City shared her experience that when she was confined in the hospital, her loan application was processed by her sister and father. Her loan proceeds were personally delivered by the branch's business head.

This year's theme "My Teacher, My Hero" highlights the vital role of educators as drivers of change to deliver quality education and implement DepEd's K to 12 education reform.

"The revolution in education is a revolution that will change the country and bring about all of the dreams and hopes of our young people. If you want to transform our country, we need living heroes," emphasized Sec. Bro. Armin Luistro during one of DepEd's culminating activity.
